Dude..Look..Dude
Mathew had his little friend Christopher come over and play. Since Mathew was grounded today him and Chris played inside. Well they got bored and I told them they could juice oranges if they wanted to.
When I am in the other room...All I heard was ....Dude look at this? Dude don't do that?? Dude look at all the juice? Dude isn't this awesome....I know dude. Apparently the 90's is still alive and happening in the lives our 8yr old's lives!

New Waffle Receipe
Quick Waffles
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tbsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp sugar
Beat whole eggs in a bowl until thick. Beat milk, melted butter and vanilla into eggs. In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Sift into egg mixture, and mix well. Bake as directed. Yield: 6-8 waffles
To the recipe I added 1 basket of blueberries and 1 cup of extra milk. I did notice that the batter was really thick so that is why the extra milk.
I am thinking that I will experiment with the recipe and see if I can't cut the fat in it. It is just allot of butter for 9 Belgium Waffles.
Overall this recipe was fabulous with the little tweaking that I did! A+++++

New Additions...
We add 3 new chicks to the mix at our house! These chickens we won't eat....they just get man handled on a daily basis. A little torched by the young ones that is all. Mathew's chicken from the last batch of babies died after the hard rain storm and cold. So he was a little sad...Poor kid is on his 3rd chicken. So hopefully the third time is a charm!

RUN....CHICKEN...RUN!
A few weeks ago...We butchered 6 of our chickens. Tonight was the first time that we used one of them. It was really good. We had chicken and dumplings tonight.
CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS
4 chicken breasts with skin removed
4 chicken breasts with skin removed
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
DUMPLINGS:
2 c. all-purpose flour
DUMPLINGS:
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. Crisco
3/4 c. milk
Add enough water to cover chicken breast and boil until tender. If you like the taste of garlic, add 1 tablespoon Lawry's garlic salt to water. Reserve broth. Remove chicken, allow to cool enough to handle and remove chicken off bones. Cut into bite size pieces. Return chicken pieces to broth; add vegetables and bring to soft boil.
To make dumplings, sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Cut Crisco into flour mixture using pastry blender or table knife until it resembles coarse cornmeal. Add milk to make soft dough. Drop by tablespoon into hot chicken broth mixture. Cover and continue to cook for 15-20 minutes. Do not remove lid until dumplings are done.

PHASE 10
GuEsS WHO WON!
FORREST.
Well that was a recap of the night! It is so much fun having the boys older so that we can play board games with them. I think the boys' favorite part of the night was the Sparkling Cidar that we cracked open at Midnight.
Happy New Year!
